Where the sea and the river meet, there is a rich and generous land, bathed by the Gironde to the east and the Atlantic Ocean to the west, in which vineyards extend as far as the eye can see, full of historic Chateaus with an ancient feeling: the Medoc (middle earth).

For hundreds of years this region, located in western France in New Aquitaine, has been offering to the world exceptional and elegant wines with unique aromas.

Precisely in this magical tongue of sand and pebbles smoothed by time and water, we can find the historical Chateau Meric, named after Cavalier Meric, a French crusader who retired to these lands on his return from battle.

To date, the estate is the northernmost in the region with an extension of 32 hectares, which benefits from an ideal climate for growing grapes and a unique terroir due to its geographical location.

Here Marius Chala and his team expertly assemble the main grape varieties of the area, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, to create balanced and unforgettable products, respecting tradition and nature.

The production, in fact, is turning towards a biodynamic regime, but for years the company has been operating in total respect for nature and is certified “Terra Vitis” and “HVE3”, both awards that are a guarantee of quality and sustainability.

We were able to taste a selection of the products of this historic company, which Marius has selected for us and which we want to offer you.

Merlot (52%) • Cabernet Sauvignon (34%) • Petit Verdot (14%)

Pleasantly aromatic and fragrant, with brilliant shades, this blend explodes in the mouth with a genuine and fresh taste, without losing its thickness.

Cabernet Sauvignon (52%) • Merlot (34%) • Petit Verdot (14%)

Aging in barrels for 18 months

Elegant and balanced, this product offers a round and persistent flavor, the intense red color is a prelude to a fruity taste with notes of cherry.

Full-bodied, it lends itself well to long bottle aging.

LE PLANTIER DE MERIC – 2014 – 2015

A wine with an important structure, with an enveloping flavor rich in aromas of blackberry and wood, it offers intense aromas of red fruits with hints of tobacco.

With each sip it evolves, opening up and giving an ever new bouquet

In each of the wines of Chateau Meric we have rediscovered the history and charm that Bordeaux wines evoke, immersing us in a splendid sensory journey through the flavors and aromas of this renowned region.

Special thanks to Marius for guiding us through this wonderful experience.
